Noche de los Museos

Noche de los Museos, the night in early summer when more than 200 of the city's museums open their doors to the public until 2am. We began our tour in Recoleta.

Colin, Noah, Dinah, Helen and Noah's cousin fortified themselves with empanadas in the park. They would need to keep their strength up for the night of long lines and ruthless crowds ahead.
First stop, the Taller de Collage at the Palais de Glace in Recoleta.

Colin and Kate's collage, displayed on the walls of a gallery in the Palais de Glace.

Nicholas and Noah engaged in a pointellist exercise.

The artists, Dinah and Helen, with their work.

The clothing museum.

The Museo de Títeres, where we waited in line for about an hour to see an impressive one-man, one-puppet performance.

The four toughest museum-goers (those still standing by this point: Helen, Dinah, Colin and Kate) made a mad dash to catch one last museo before the end of the night. Though we arrived at the Planeterio Galileo Galilei at 1:30am, half an hour before closing, the line out the door told us we wouldn't be seeing any fake stars that night.
